Wondering and pondering abt the journey so far would be giving you the similar thoughts, if you are still not living in your dreams!!!
To some extent its obnoxiously unrelated to the title of my post but giving a sincere thought to scripted happenings people go through in quest of their desired (thought of, MBA's theoretical realm) job would be definitely bringing a cute smile on every1's face. Catch is that a very small proportion of us would be satisfied with our initial start. A descent chunk would have taken life as it comes... moving forward with the flow and waiting in course to jump to the next bandwagon routed towards greener pastures. A small group could still waiting........ n believe me or not that wait hardly ends :)
A very small but people having the real appetite for taking risks would be forging ahead on a complete unexplored path (Entrepreneurs at heart or people still yearning to add something more to their existing skills).
Now dat was the initial briefing but real stuff comes now...
A great saying goes "Work hard to realize ur dreams... else someone would put you in work to realize their dreams". But again doing job has its own pros :) as well as its cons :(
Why doing job is all about your mentality?
Answers are many with minor variations depending on the profile you are into or vertical you are part of.
A simple Sales insight - Be strong mentally to absorb success as well as failures, ability to generate business out of nowhere, geared to travel unknown territories, skills to make contacts, patience to handle rejections, Character to avoid temptations :), Stamina to beat out competition and last not but the least just sticking in there..... (Really the last one is the game changer).
Experience rates way higher in the real field above any of your academic credentials. It takes some real diplomacy to deal with your boss, clients, business partners, colleagues, people at HO as well as competitors... :)
People with analytic jobs again have to figure out whether they are doing something adding value to their learning or not??? Sometimes it can get really monotonous :(
Now the question about physical implications is there for each individual to find out as its very-2 evident :)
Actually right now I am leaving this post in its raw form as need to go for d required sleep as tomorrow again need to be present in the battlefield...
